Welcome to Romney Marsh Dog Training And Social Club

So much more than just a dog training club!

Our obedience classes at Romney Marsh Dog Training and Social Club in Kent, are suitable for all-comers, from first-time dog owners to those with more experience, from children to pensioners, and you do not have to have a puppy to be able to start dog training.

We have our classes on a Monday night at Newchurch villiage hall.

We are a charity club.  We donate a sum of money to Last Chance, our chosen charity each year.  We are proud to support the work of Last Chance.

Our trainers are: Janet Newman, Anna Mew and Cherry.  All the trainers are volunteers who give their time to help owners and dogs live in harmony together!

Don't be driven barking mad by your dog or puppy.......bring them to school.

We encourage reward based training, so lots of treats, favourite toys and pats are essential!  We aim to help pet dog owners enjoy their pets, we work on exercises to help achieve this, such as walking to heel, coming when called, staying in one position, and waiting for their owner to go through a gateway first! And lots more!

Your dog will need to have a well fitted collar and soft lead when coming to the class.  By law your dog should wear a tag that has your name and address on it, a telephone number is optional.  Please also bring some poo bags with you and clean up after your dog!

The club follow the Kennel club good citizen awards for those who want to participate.  The awards start with the puppy assessment, this is an ongoing informal assessment for dogs under 1 year old and covers owning, living with and training a puppy.  Then the dogs can move onto the bronze, silver and finally gold awards.  These awards are based on good behaviour and sound temperament of pet dogs.   Many dogs, of all shapes and sizes, and their owners have enjoyed the success and sense of achievement at receiving these awards!

As our name suggests we are a dog training and social club, social events include dog walks and fish and chips on the beach, woodland walks and Christmas dinner!

As well as weekly training classes on Monday evenings, the club offers gun dog training, agility and social walks.

If you are interested in joining please contact Cherry on 01303 261854 to discuss your needs.  If there is a place available, you and your dog will be invited along for a assessment with one of the trainers.  You and your dog will then be placed in an appropriate class.  We want to help as many pets and owners as possible, but must stress that we are a training club for pet dogs and we can not help with specific problems such as aggression.
